He Can't Possibly Not Like Me [Childhood Friends]

[Waiting for 300 saves]

Li Sijia has hated Ji Huaize ever since they were little.

She hates his overly flashy looks, and his awful grades and careless attitude.

Most of all, she hates the way he gives her a brazen smile, as if she were just another trophy he could easily win over by casually turning on the charm.

She isn’t that shallow.

And she doesn’t go around talking about men or liking any of them.

But he’s so annoying, always doing stupid things that get on her nerves.

She can’t help frowning and complaining to her friends:

“Why is he so weird every single day?”

Her friend listens, fed up, then sighs. “Is it possible Ji Huaize likes you and is deliberately trying to get your attention?”

At first, Li Sijia doesn’t believe it.

Until one day she overhears Ji Huaize list his ideal type: thin, fair, pretty, with a big brain.

Then she accidentally sees that his phone wallpaper is a picture of her.

Li Sijia shuts her eyes, blushes, and takes a deep breath. Oh my god, I’m the one he’s secretly in love with.

Ji Huaize has always thought Li Sijia was such a poser.

He hates her stuffy, schoolmarmish face and her habit of acting like a teacher, even though she’s the top student in their grade.

Most of all, he hates the way she looks down on him and refuses to meet his eyes, all proud and haughty like a peacock strutting around with its chest out.

He’d never like a humorless, unfeminine girl like her.

All the admiration people have for her is nothing but a joke to him.

But one day, Li Sijia stops rolling her eyes at him.

She even sneaks snacks into his desk, and when he isn’t looking, steals a kiss.

It’s just a fleeting kiss, but he’s left dazed and blushing, raging helplessly inside his head: What the hell was that?

He pretends to be asleep, then feels confused and bewildered, before finally realizing the truth and believing it beyond a doubt: Damn...

Could she actually like me?
