The Whole Class Transmigrates Into a Book: Raising Kids to Survive

Lately, Class 9 of the South Huai No. 1 High School senior year has taken up a new way to relieve stress: collaboratively writing a xianxia novel.

In real life, they're exhausted, overworked seniors preparing for the college entrance exams. In their novel, they're Immortal Venerables, Demon Venerables, divine fortune-tellers, demonesses... Everyone writes a story starring themselves, filling in the worldbuilding as they go, and having a blast.

Of course, once you have protagonists, you need a villain, too.

The villain is a world-ending monster born from all the world's malice. After incubating for millions of years, she finally takes human form. Because of her nature, she attracts countless cruelties and sorrows as she grows up, until she is utterly twisted and corrupted.

The students of Class 9 give their characters glamorous, tragic deaths. Through their fearless sacrifice, they stop the villain from destroying the world, and their legends live on forever in the cultivation realm.

But then they transmigrate into a book.

"...I think I'd rather live than be remembered for all time. Anyone else?"

"Aaaah! The college entrance exams are in a hundred days! Can we get back?!"

"Everyone! Everyone! I think I've found the villain from our novel, Li Buzhi!"

"What?! What stage is she at now?"

"The stage where her parents have abandoned her, a little beggar has beaten her up, she's been sold to a scumbag who broke her arms and legs, and she's begging on the street and fighting dogs for food..."

The whole class goes pale.

As far back as Li Buzhi can remember, her parents never loved her, the servants bullied her, and she never had enough to eat or warm clothes to wear. Then, in the middle of a freezing winter, she was driven out of her home.

One day, as she dragged her broken leg through the streets begging, a woman stopped before her and offered her food and money. Gently, she said, "You have remarkable bones and would make a fine cultivator. Would you like to come with me and join the South Huai Immortal Sect? You'll have enough to eat and warm clothes from now on, and a bright future ahead of you."
