They All Want My Mercy

Li Xi always thought she was utterly ordinary, until a part-time job pulled her into the schemes and deadly battles of the God-gifted.

At first, everyone thought she was a nobody they could crush with ease. Strangely, though, everyone who tried to kill her ended up dead, and anyone who crossed her met a miserable end.

Some said she was the foremost figure in the mysterious Demon Sequence. Others claimed she was the Angel Sequence member who had once fallen from grace amid great fanfare.

They said the Four Killers, Ghost, Phantom, Demon, and Monster, whose true faces no one had ever seen, worked for her. They said she held the lifelines of the major conglomerates and commanded advanced technology and divine arts.

Li Xi, so broke it hurt and not awakened to even a sliver of divine power: ?

Then one day, during a torrential downpour, Li Xi found a gravely wounded man on the verge of death near her front door.

The next day.

Another battered man appeared at Li Xi's door. A black butterfly tattoo, as if woven from thread, marked his right shoulder blade. His deep, dark eyes watched her in silence, full of helplessness.

The third day.

Li Xi found a fallen angel's feather in the room of the first man she'd picked up.

She heard the second man she'd picked up speaking to a flower: "...What else can I do? The goddess likes picking up men so much, she might as well pick me up."

She opened the door and found a third man collapsed outside, pale, weak, handsome, and eerily alluring.

Li Xi: ???

"The Goddess of Fate has descended upon this forsaken land, watching over everything here. Those she favors will escape darkness and suffering and see all their glory and dreams come true. Those she despises will sink into a living hell, struggling in vain..."

"God, have mercy on me."
