Bai Yi's Garden

Two years after graduating from college, Bai Yi noticed a new gallery near her workplace. It was holding an exhibition called The Garden of Bai Yi.

When her coworkers and friends asked what was going on, Bai Yi glossed over it. "It was just a part-time job I did in college. I worked as a model."

She hadn't planned on going, but the exhibition was open 24 hours a day, and after a month of it running, she finally gave in. After a company dinner, and a few drinks that weakened her resolve, she walked into the gallery.

Ming Jian caught her red-handed.

In the dimly lit gallery, Ming Jian sat in his wheelchair, his dark eyes fixed on her.

Bai Yi's gaze fell on his legs. Her tongue tied itself in knots before she finally managed, "Your legs... weren't they supposed to be better by now?"

Ming Jian smiled faintly, but Bai Yi inexplicably felt a chill all over.

He said softly, "After you abandoned me and left, I thought about it for a long time. Eventually, I figured it out. You must like me better when I'm disabled than when I'm healthy. So, Yiyi, I injured my legs again."
