Just Right [Parallel Universe Version of Our Contract Marriage Became Reality]

Gentle, moonlike professor x passionate, sunlike novelist

To put it fancifully: a parallel-universe version of The Contract Marriage Came True next door.

To put it plainly: this is the precursor to The Contract Marriage.

I really wanted to give the Xiao Chao and Shu Qiu in this version some closure, so I decided to publish it after all. My writing may (definitely) not be as good as The Contract Marriage, and some parts may even be a little amateurish. Just read it for fun.

Since the outlines of the two versions are similar, some plot points are bound to overlap, but the characters react differently. Please don't flame me if it's not to your taste. If you like sweet, short stories, you can head straight over to The Contract Marriage Came True next door. This book is longer and not quite as sweet. If the other story is sugary sweet osmanthus, this one is serene pear blossom, richly fragrant and lingering on the palate.

It's all right if you don't like it. I just wanted to give these characters, who have been shut away in my computer and never seen the light of day, some closure. I also wanted to ease my guilt over the way I treated them.

Please let me give them the life they should have had. Thank you, everyone.

---Book Blurb---

After dropping out of school and writing for seven years, Chao Yi had finally managed to edge toward the title of "newly popular novelist." Then he hit writer's block for a year, and was cyberbullied for six months because of it.

He held book signings while being cyberbullied. They looked glamorous on the surface, but online he was getting torn apart. The words "recycling old material" were practically carved into Chao Yi's bones.

Meanwhile...

Xie Shuqiu had won every debate competition he entered and never once failed as a coach. But because of one mistake in his guidance, his department lost.

Two disheartened men met at a lecture, then crossed paths again by chance.

Xie Shuqiu (bluntly): Can I get your WeChat?

Chao Yi (dazed): Oh? Oh! Sure!

Their souls were in sync, and Chao Yi finally overcame his writer's block. Life gave him inspiration.

Their minds resonated, and as they planned for a debate competition together, Xie Shuqiu made a stunning comeback.
