The Mid Laner Is No Easy Opponent [Esports]

In a pre-semifinal interview for the KPL, a reporter asked Taozhi of Nanzhou VCG and Zhuozhuo of Beilin ENG the same questions.

[Reporter]: I heard you attend the same school and are roommates. Your fans are curious about your relationship. What would you say?

[Taozhi]: We don't know each other well.

[Zhuozhuo]: We were in love.

[Reporter]: You're both women, and both play mid lane, so your matchup is probably the most anticipated. Is there anything you'd like to say to each other?

[Taozhi]: Switching from jungler to mid laner is like switching fields entirely. That's a tough one to judge. I wish her luck.

[Zhuozhuo]: Give my dog back.

Ling Zhuo's perspective:

During the summer after the college entrance exam, Ling Zhuo fell for a scammer while dating online in a game. The photo was stolen, and the voice was fake.

After finding out she'd been tricked, Ling Zhuo regretted everything and decided to close her heart to love.

Then the very next day, she met Taozhi in her school dorm. Taozhi looked exactly like the fake photo of the scammer.

Even more unbelievably, a few days later, Taozhi confessed to her.

This stroke of unbelievable good fortune left Ling Zhuo dazed. She was so caught up in their sweet romance that she couldn't pull herself away.

But just as she was hoping to spend a romantic night with Taozhi, Taozhi broke up with her.

Taozhi: Do you remember the night of August 23? You played Lanling King and ganked the same Xiao Qiao twice in a row, leaving her with a score of 0-17.

Ling Zhuo: ?

Taozhi: I was that Xiao Qiao.

Taozhi's perspective:

During the summer after the college entrance exam, Taozhi got hooked on Honor of Kings. Her favorite hero was Xiao Qiao. Every day, she'd clutch her phone and say, "Xiao Qiao has to get stronger!" She had a great time playing.

That was until she ran into a deranged Lanling King who wouldn't farm jungle camps or clear minions, and spent the entire match hunting her down. He ganked her until she had a score of 0-17, then reported her for feeding.

Taozhi was utterly devastated and silently added Lanling King's ID to her death list.

On the night school started, her new roommates didn't know each other well, so they planned to use Honor of Kings to get closer.

As they exchanged IDs, Taozhi heard one she recognized. She looked at Ling Zhuo and realized she was the deranged Lanling King.

To get revenge, Taozhi set a trap and played with Ling Zhuo's feelings. When their relationship was at its sweetest, Taozhi cut it off without mercy, determined to make Ling Zhuo suffer the bitterness of love.

But after breaking up with Ling Zhuo, why did her own heart feel so bitter?
