The Stuttering Man Takes His Child on a Parenting Show

After his death, Cheng Zhilu transmigrated into a book, landing twenty years before the events of a Mary Sue novel, when the male lead, female lead, and villain were all just three- to five-year-old children. And, as luck would have it, he became the villain’s stuttering stepdad. According to the plot, the villain was constantly abused by the original owner, growing up cold-blooded and twisted before drowning the original owner with his own hands. But now, Cheng Zhilu has only just “married” into the family, and the villain is still a little one who has been psychologically abused by a malicious nanny for years. Like a timid, clingy stray puppy, he calls Cheng Zhilu his stepdad in a small, clear voice. The little stray is afraid of people, but one pat on the head has him wagging his tail and wanting to snuggle close. He even gives Cheng Zhilu all the precious candy he’s been secretly saving, and sneaks into his arms to sleep late at night. When people mock Cheng Zhilu for stuttering, the little one turns into a fierce puppy and stands protectively in front of him. Unable to resist the puppy’s affection, Cheng Zhilu decides to raise the villain right and break free of the plot. Cheng Zhilu face-slaps the malicious nanny, showing the child that he’s wonderful and not the “bad kid” the nanny claims he is. Cheng Zhilu scolds the “old man” and guides him into becoming a good father, so the child can understand that his workaholic dad really does love him. Cheng Zhilu takes the kid on a variety show for parents and children, where he makes friends with the male lead, female lead, and other children when they are all still little. Gradually, Cheng Zhilu realizes that the kid seems to have “tricked” him… He wanted to leave show business, but somehow wound up with countless fans, and even the haters who used to bash him now call him their “little stutterer wife” every day. He wanted to lie flat and take life easy, but to help the kid study, he brought several graduate-school prep books onto the show and now studies alongside the viewers in the livestream every night. This is a heartwarming, slice-of-life story. The chapters may seem to progress slowly because they’re short, but there are two or three updates a day, so there’s plenty to read. 2. The protagonist stutters a little, but it’s not severe. He continues to have a slight stutter. The love interests have a seven-year age gap. 3. Same-sex marriage is legal, but there are no children born to the couple. 4. I don’t follow celebrities or know much about show business, so the variety-show content is made up.
