Qi Mo comes to his senses, deeply moved.

Yet somehow, he has a disciple who betrayed the immortal sect.

At the Immortal Dao Conference, Liu Shuyun rises and bows his head in apology. "I, Cloudhide, have failed to teach my disciple properly. Once I find that wretch, I will give all my fellow cultivators an explanation."

Seeing this, Liu Shuyun's eldest disciple immediately speaks up. "This was not Master's fault. Our junior disciple was born with a rebellious streak."

The leader of the conference quickly adds, "Shuyun, you did all you could. Some people are beyond saving from birth."

Even the Demon Venerable of the demonic realm speaks up when he hears the news. "Anyone who dares make Cloudhide unhappy has no place in the demonic realm either."

After the conference ends, Liu Shuyun returns to his cave abode and conjures a starry Go board with a wave of his hand.

Every piece sits neatly in place, except for one lying on its side.

It is the little disciple who jumped off the cliff.

Picking up the piece, Liu Shuyun smiles faintly. "Since you have left the board, let me see whether you can truly escape my control."

The Dao may be a foot higher, but the demon is a yard higher. To stop the people from his dream from laying a hand on his master, Qi Mo has no choice but to become a demon and strike first.

He commits countless atrocities, with his master always chasing after him, yet never quite catching up.

Once he has killed everyone who coveted his master, he turns around, covered in blood, only for a hand as white as jade to stroke his cheek.

"Did you really think your master couldn't catch up with you?" Liu Shuyun smiles mischievously at Qi Mo's astonished expression.
