How I Was Summoned as an Evil God After Retirement

[Don't Buy! Don't Buy!

[Blurb]:

After finishing his travels and returning to his original world, Chu Qianchen chose teaching from among the many retirement options available to him.

His retirement was peaceful and lovely. His only trouble was that all his old friends and family had mysteriously disappeared, so the police kept showing up at his door to ask questions.

At some point, the people around him began looking at him more and more strangely. More and more unfamiliar faces appeared, too. It wasn't until one day, when a mysterious government organization cornered him at home, that Chu Qianchen learned the truth.

His first college roommate had become the world's most notorious supervillain, leading countless organizations and bent on summoning an evil god to destroy the world and bring about its true transcendence.

His second college roommate was the infamous leader of a heretical organization. He spent all his time mixed up in bizarre incidents and dreamed of sacrificing millions of people to become a god.

His third college roommate had ended up in a psychiatric hospital as a high-risk patient. Three days ago, he kidnapped every patient and doctor in the hospital, then mysteriously vanished after a fog rolled in, leaving corpses scattered everywhere. He was on the blacklist, too.

And then there was his father, who had risen from the dead as an undead creature, and his teacher, who had gone mad from studying philosophy and become a professor of criminal instruction...

Chu Qianchen (eyes wide with shock): How did you all end up in such a terrible state?

Mysterious Department: “According to the accounts of the many heretics we've apprehended, there is a guide in the world of darkness who freely provides rituals and incantations for wielding all kinds of uncanny powers, and who has been stirring up all sorts of anomalous incidents. That person is you, Mr. Chu.”

Chu Qianchen (gritting his teeth): “Someone is trying to frame me. I'll cooperate with the investigation.”

Mysterious Department (panicking inside but pretending to be calm): “Thank you for your cooperation.”

Chu Qianchen thought the matter was over and trusted the authorities to investigate. He never expected the trouble to get even worse.

He was summoned as an evil god.

He was even forced to take on the appearance of an astral traveler, making him look exactly like an evil god up to no good.

Now here's the problem: about two-thirds of the people who summoned him looked familiar. They all seemed to be his college classmates...

Chu Qianchen: Are you having a class reunion or what?

And why is the evil god you summoned me? What about me looks evil-god-like?!

Beat them all up and hand them over to the human investigation team that's on its way.

1. The protagonist is an ordinary Outer God who just happens to be passing through while enjoying his retirement. He's chaotic neutral and on humanity's side.

2. From the protagonist's point of view, this is a power fantasy. From an omniscient point of view, it's not much of one, since it's Lovecraftian horror.

3. The entire setting and worldbuilding are original. Any resemblance is purely coincidental.

Theme: Cherish the bonds you have with the people around you.
