Once I've reined in my urge to write something huge, I'll definitely rewrite this!
Coming soon: Adopted Son, A Liability (Reborn) and Digging for Treasure in the Yellow Sands (Infinite Flow). Blurbs are at the very bottom. There are completed works in my author page.
After his father mysteriously disappears, a corpse suddenly appears at home.
Following instructions in a text message, Fu Xingzhou goes to the ghost market to seek protection from its owner, Qin Yan. He starts running a shop together with Qin Yan.
Independent, aloof, laid-back delinquent boy × restrained, mysterious, sharp-tongued and mean shopkeeper
Younger top + metaphysical and supernatural elements + fated entanglement + two equally strong leads
The pale-faced shopkeeper, who moves between the worlds of the living and the dead, sits at his desk polishing one cold artifact after another, each seemingly alive.
At the ghost market, you can buy anything...
A book to change your fate and prolong your life
A red thread from the Matchmaker
A thousand-year-old bronze bell
A broken Buddha statue
After encountering person after person, ghost after ghost, Fu Xingzhou finally uncovers the truth behind it all. He's glad he helped so many restless souls find peace and changed so many things.
He learns the truth about his father's death and solves the mystery of his origins.
Neither of them ever admits their feelings.
Qin Yan watches the boy who once hid behind him grow up, and suppresses the affection quietly taking root in his heart.
At the very end, Qin Yan coaxes Fu Xingzhou into drinking the Waters of Forgetfulness.
He is a wandering ghost, unable ever to see the light of day, forced to eke out an existence in the shadows.
But Fu Xingzhou is different. He has his whole life ahead of him and deserves every beautiful thing.
Qin Yan wants to give him the best. He wants him to forget.
Fu Xingzhou spends his days searching and waiting. He remembers that he once had a lover.
He drifts among neon lights, intoxicated by liquor and cigarette smoke.
One night, he wakes from a dream and finally remembers the lover he had forgotten.
Betting everything he has, Fu Xingzhou finally saves Qin Yan from the mire.
Coming soon: Adopted Son, A Liability (Reborn)
Mad, ruthless stray-dog top × sickly beauty bottom, age gap
On the day his adoptive father, Qin Ruzhou, dies, Shen Huaiyan cries for the first time. He kneels for a long time before Qin Ruzhou's grave.
The one who killed his adoptive father was Qin Tianbai, Qin Ruzhou's other adopted son. But it was too late to turn back the clock.
Fate gives him a second chance. Shen Huaiyan is reborn at sixteen, back at the orphanage, and he is determined to change everything.
Everyone knows that Shen Er has been a vicious dog since childhood.
When the other children at the orphanage pick on him, he bites back.
When classmates corner him in an alley, he grits his teeth and refuses to beg for mercy.
When other kids bully his older brother, Shen Er grabs his fists and knocks out two of their teeth.
Shen Er is proud of his scars. He doesn't care that one left a permanent mark on his brow.
Eventually, no one dares bully him anymore. They all know Shen Er's teeth are never for begging, and that even when his teeth are knocked out, he won't let go.
Then Qin Ruzhou appears, dressed in black and pale-faced, standing at the orphanage entrance.
Qin Ruzhou wants to adopt a son as his heir.
He takes the most outstanding child, Qin Tianbai.
After walking a few meters, he turns back and takes Shen Er, too.
And so Shen Er gets a new name: Shen Huaiyan.
Shen Er thinks that he has a new life.
Shen Huaiyan has always ranked below Qin Tianbai. Qin Ruzhou allows only Qin Tianbai to call him Father, and only Qin Tianbai to share his surname.
The Qin family butler happens to be surnamed Shen. As if granting him a favor, Qin Ruzhou lets him keep the surname and registers him under the butler's household.
In this empty home, Shen Huaiyan is practically invisible.
No matter how busy Qin Ruzhou is with work, he always makes time to teach Qin Tianbai about the family business.
Shen Huaiyan, meanwhile, simply lives quietly.
Qin Ruzhou pulled him out of the mire, only to abandon him with his own hands.
For a long time, Shen Huaiyan thinks he is nothing more than a stimulant meant to spur Qin Tianbai on.
Qin Ruzhou won't teach him anything. He's just a plaything Qin Ruzhou brought home on a whim.
Qin Ruzhou's complexion grows ever paler as his chronic illness worsens.
Qin Tianbai's wolfish ambition is plain to see.
Now that he has a second life, Shen Huaiyan won't let Qin Tianbai get his way.
He will save Qin Ruzhou,
and himself.
After they get together, Shen Huaiyan often wakes from nightmares. What if Qin Ruzhou hadn't turned back that day? What if he hadn't been reborn?
His brutality is only a disguise, and he is always suspicious of Qin Ruzhou's feelings.
Pinning Qin Ruzhou against the bed, he brings up the past again and again: "Do you like your younger brother more?"
Coming soon: Days Spent Digging for Treasure in the Yellow Sands (Infinite Flow)
Chu Yan, a graduate student in history, receives an invitation from a classified organization in Qingcheng. They invite him to join an archaeological expedition to investigate the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
He puts down his half-finished thesis and follows the team to the Giza Plateau, about ten kilometers southwest of Cairo.
Standing before the solemn, imposing pyramids, he feels his very soul tremble.
Then, in the blink of an eye, he is in an age when the sky is filled with yellow sand. Nearby, workers stoop beneath heavy stones as they carry them along.
A girl on the stone steps sings with a voice like that of a bewitching siren, plucking her harp and enchanting everyone.
The next moment, her eyes fly open and she points at Chu Yan. "Enemy spy!"
The army immediately pins Chu Yan to the ground. At the critical moment, an arrow slices through the air. A burly man wielding a stone hammer knocks away the soldiers on the outer edge and drags Chu Yan to safety.
To get back, he must first find traces of the gods...
After leaving the Great Pyramid of Khufu instance, Chu Yan discovers that his rescuer is Ling Yeyu, a guide with a neighboring country's archaeological expedition.
Both teams try to get ahead of the other, yet they keep running into each other.
At the feet of the Colossus of Ospilin.
Outside the Temple of Erte...
At last, Chu Yan can't help asking, "Why do you keep following us?"
Ling Yeyu's expression is cool. "I could ask you the same thing."
In the Hanging Gardens, ethereal veils and yellow dust brush across Chu Yan's face, and he can no longer tell reality from imagination.
"Wake up."
"Don't believe what they say."
"You are only yourself."
"Only you can decide how to measure the world."
Ling Yeyu's voice is like a northwestern gale, blowing away everything that makes Chu Yan feel unsteady.
Theme: Stand up for justice and be willing to help others
