At the entrance to the Wenzhou City Public Security Bureau, Yan Cong’an stands in the pouring rain with a high fever. The cold rain soaks her dress and hair.
“Yan Cong’an, what are you doing?!” Shen Chi hurriedly takes off her police uniform and drapes it over her, scolding her. “You’re a grown woman. Why are you running around in the rain?”
But Yan Cong’an just smiles and says, “Happy birthday.”
“I stopped celebrating my birthday a long time ago.”
Shen Chi doesn’t dare look Yan Cong’an in the eyes. She stares only at the cake in her hand and the ring on the middle finger of Yan Cong’an’s right hand.
She instinctively touches the ring on the middle finger of her own left hand.
“Chi Chi.” Yan Cong’an fights through the splitting pain of her fever and takes her hand. The rings on their middle fingers touch.
“I love you... Could you love me too...?” Yan Cong’an’s words are filled with tenderness.
Theme: Light will banish darkness forever. That is the light of salvation.
