Mr. Wei Is Still Working Hard Today

When the cultural center was facing closure and demolition, a new employee showed up. He was stiff and wooden, and Wei Caorui found everything about him irritating.

Xue Yi was earnest and adorably dense. His college-student-like enthusiasm somehow got everyone at the center on his side. The cultural center, which had been coasting for years, once again caught the public's attention, and Wei Caorui, who had long been slacking off, could only resign himself to the new reality.

Xue Yi was a few years younger than Wei Caorui, but he had a knack for taking care of people. He knew exactly what Wei Caorui liked and took care of all three meals a day.

After the accident years ago, Wei Caorui had always kept his feelings for others in check. When he sensed how strongly Xue Yi felt about him, he kept backing away.

Xue Yi looked at him and answered in a measured, earnest voice, "Maybe I'm not good enough yet, but, boss, could you wait for me until I become someone worthy of you?"

The old wiring shorted and burst into flames. Once almost everyone had made it out of the room, Wei Caorui realized Xue Yi was still inside.

Ignoring everyone trying to stop him, he rushed in alone. The flames scorched him, but he felt no pain. All he could think about was saving the person he loved, no matter the cost.

This time, he wouldn't run away again.
