When an NPC Is Secretly Loved by a Puppet Monster

After Ning Zhitiao dies, she becomes an NPC in a school-themed level of a reincarnation game. She has no special abilities and is only there as background scenery, occasionally letting out a scream. The level's final boss is her classmate, Wu Zhan. The boy has thick black hair, and whenever he smiles shyly at her, his cheeks are always flushed. Ning Zhitiao: Pretending to read, actually daydreaming.jpg * After the players fail yet again, the NPCs eaten by Wu Zhan turn into puppets and swarm toward them, giggling. Amid their shrill laughter, the Boss's head suddenly swells. He slowly opens his mouth, and this time turns into a mechanical slaughterhouse, swallowing everyone as gears crunch and grind through flesh and blood. As desperate cries fill the air, Ning Zhitiao packs up her books and slides into the Boss's mouth with her desk and chair. The first time she was eaten, she cried and struggled. The second time, she sobbed uncontrollably... Now? Ning Zhitiao: Used to it.jpg The level resets once again. Every time Wu Zhan devours the girl he has a crush on, his deathly pale skin turns red. He can't help making a special stomach pouch just to house the girl he swallowed. His enormous eyeball often lingers furtively on the pouch's surface as he watches her quietly reading inside. He waits in silence for the next time they meet. Ning Zhitiao: I've finished this book. How long until the level resets? .jpg *The story takes place in a game level, but there's almost no mystery to solve. It's just an ordinary romance. * [Not a balanced romance] The male lead's feelings for the female lead far outweigh hers for him. *Everyday slice-of-life, BG romance, BG romance, don't start ship wars. *The female lead is an ordinary person, not strong. Theme: Love needs the right values.
