After Falling in Love with the Holy Son

While picking herbs in the hills behind the apothecary, apprentice healer Carly fell and lost a year's worth of memories. At death's door, she was cursed.

The only cure was a pure kiss from the Holy Son.

Carly had never imagined she would have anything to do with the Holy Son.

For years, she'd been used to gazing up at him from afar in the square as he bowed his pure white lashes in prayer, lofty and breathtakingly handsome, both noble and compassionate.

At a time when all the gods had fallen, he was beloved by the dead gods and adored by the common people. The ruins often bestowed divine blessings through him, benefiting all creation.

How could someone so pure and untouched ever descend to the mortal world?

...So she decided to tell him the truth on the day of prayer and ask him with utmost sincerity. Whether it worked was up to fate.

But that very night, someone silently crept into her backyard and knocked on the back window, greeting her with the tender familiarity of a secret lover. "Carly."

Carly opened the window. Before her stood a youth bathed in moonlight, his exquisite beauty undimmed by his plain cloak and hood. A strand of silver-white hair, fine as silk, hung over his chest. His golden eyes held their usual warmth, but now they were lowered to meet hers alone.

It was the Holy Son.

The Holy Son, who could never fall in love.

And he'd been dating her for six months.

Carly: "..."

Oh my gosh!!!!!

The Holy Son was the only representative of the fallen God of Light left in the mortal world. He was pure, chaste, and gentle with everyone.

Until he broke his own principles. When their relationship was discovered, his lover was tearfully helpless and wanted them to go their separate ways. He thought:

Why not become the new God of Light, so no one would dare criticize us?

Then, in the guise of a god, he could yearn for her, plead with her, and beg her to change her mind.
