My Deskmate Is Damian

Lately, I've run into the biggest problem of my elementary school life: my new deskmate looks as vicious as the Tibetan Mastiff my neighbor keeps.

To make matters worse, he seems to be good at everything. He can beat high schoolers from the neighborhood to a pulp in seconds, and despite sleeping through class every day, he gets perfect marks in every subject.

But he's so scary that I think I might get bullied by the school's top tough guy. I'm on edge all day, breaking into cold sweats.

Until one day, after Damian made an impatient tsk for the twelfth time, he seemed to swallow back something even harsher, then glanced at me. "Are you a vibrator, Susie?"

"My name is Daria, Damian!"

Years later, when I learned that he was Robin, the vigilante who beat criminals to a pulp in the night, I remembered how we fought (one-sidedly), argued, threatened each other, how I tugged his hair and he held back from killing me. "..."

I knew he was good at fighting, but I had no idea he was that good! Otherwise, I never would have dared to provoke him!

No, no, no, no. He only beats up criminals, right? He wouldn't take revenge over a personal grudge, would he?

As I trembled with fear, Damian gave a derisive snort.

And then we started dating.
