Building an Empire with the Great General [Transmigration]

An elegant, scheming transmigrated seme X an honest, resilient general uke

Song Guanyue had just passed the examination to become a low-ranking official when he transmigrated during a natural disaster. As it happened, the original owner had also just passed the palace examination and been sent to a seaside town to serve as the emperor's experimental official.

The court was divided between civil and military officials. The emperor didn't want to take sides, so he sent a group of young civil officials to improve relations with the young military officers.

After two months of a bumpy journey that left his backside sore, Song Guanyue had barely set foot on the ground when the general who was supposed to welcome him kicked his sedan chair over.

Wu Zhenlu had been stationed there for fifteen years. He was sturdy, with sharp brows and bright eyes. Wearing a tattered suit of armor, he held a spear to Song Guanyue's throat, his gaze as cold as the weapon.

"Useless weakling. Go home while you still can!"

Song Guanyue clutched his shabby bundle, feeling as if he wouldn't survive a single punch from the general. "..."

Your Majesty, your brilliant ideas really are deadly!

Wu Zhenlu only knew how to fight and understood nothing about people's livelihoods. Though the town's residents no longer faced the danger of bandits, they were still gaunt and starving, and people kept dying.

Ever since Song Guanyue took office, those who once had neither enough to eat nor warm clothes now had full granaries and warm padded coats. They no longer had to wait miserably for death in the winter snow.

The only problem was that the two officials often argued so fiercely over their differences of opinion that the whole place was thrown into chaos.

"The two officials nearly came to blows at today's meeting."

"They're both good officials, but they can't go on arguing like this."

"Exactly. Even the best relationship can be ruined by constant arguing..."

Everyone was so worried they were losing their hair.

Meanwhile, Song Guanyue held Wu Zhenlu and pinched him fiercely. "You contradicted me again just now, didn't you?"

Wu Zhenlu was strong, but only dared to protest with a flushed face. "Your argument wasn't complete. I was just helping you fill in the gaps."

"Then I should thank you properly."

Song Guanyue pinned him to the bed and began bullying his great general again.
