A Thousand Layers of Schemes from My Psycho Boyfriend

2022.12.07

During summer break, Chu Cheng found a part-time job pretending to be the deceased boyfriend of the young lady Jiang Jin. They said Jiang Jin had lost her voice after her boyfriend died, and that her moods were unpredictable.

On his first day, Chu Cheng heard Jiang Jin sharpening a knife all night.

On his second day, he watched Jiang Jin cut a chicken's throat.

On his third day, he helped Jiang Jin wash the chicken blood off the knife.

On his fourth day, he saw Jiang Jin holding the freshly cleaned cleaver, gesturing as if she were about to give him a haircut. Chu Cheng...

Chu Cheng turned and ran. Whoever wanted the money could have it. He wasn't doing this potentially fatal job anymore.

Jiang Jin stood coldly in the doorway, gripping Chu Cheng's collar with surprising strength.

As they struggled, Chu Cheng tore Jiang Jin's dress. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I didn't see anything. I didn't see a thing. I..."

Wait a minute?

Eight-pack abs and a well-defined V-line?

Chu Cheng froze on the spot. "Y-You're a man?!"

Jiang Jin nodded, a gleam flashing in his eyes. "To tell you the truth, I transmigrated into a book. You're the protagonist, and the only way I'll be saved is if you help me complete the plot. Are you willing?"

Chu Cheng: "Huh?"

Jiang Jin: "I won't make you do it for free. I'll pay you for every plot point we complete."

Blinded by all that real money, Chu Cheng signed the contract on the spot. The plot included, but wasn't limited to, holding hands, kissing, sleeping in the same bed, and even passionately confessing their love to each other using lines from all kinds of romance novels.

Halfway through one of the cheesy love lines, Chu Cheng couldn't take it anymore. "Is this part of the plot, too?"

Jiang Jin's gaze lingered on Chu Cheng's flushed cheeks. "What plot? Have you been reading too many transmigration-into-a-book novels?"

Chu Cheng: ???

Chu Cheng: Why do I feel like I've been tricked by a total nutcase?!
