Shining Bright in Swallowed Star

A derivative work of Teacher Wo Chi Xi Hong Shi's Swallowed Star.

Shen Yi and Luo Feng are partners who fight side by side.

An accident brings them together.

Shen Yi isn't well-known at Yi'an District No. 3 High School. He's made himself a total nobody. He's lived in this safe zone since childhood. His parents were both combat pilots who fought off monsters and monitored their movements. But human bodies and fragile combat aircraft couldn't guarantee their safety, and every mission left the family on edge. When Shen Yi was seven, his parents died. He remembers watching his older brother lock himself in his room, hearing muffled, low growls through the poorly soundproofed bedroom door. He also remembers how their parents didn't understand when his brother was accepted into the First Military Academy's combined program in electronic technology and mechanical engineering two years ago. They later learned that he wanted to study the field so they wouldn't have to worry every time his parents went on a mission. His brother rarely came home over those two years. The last time was for their parents' funeral. The street's giant screen listed those who had died fighting the monsters, and their parents' names were among them. Shen Yu was devastated for three days. He only had three days of bereavement leave, so he went back to class afterward. Two months later, news came that the drone technology had achieved initial results and was being put into use. That day, Shen Yu took Shen Yi to their parents' graves. They bowed three times, and everything was left unsaid.

Chu Ran had also missed the funeral of Shen Yi's parents because he was away at the ruins of an ancient civilization. Everything happened so suddenly. As far back as he could remember, Chu Ran had been alone, bullied by bad kids until Shen Yi's parents rescued him. He didn't live with the Shen family, but would drop by for meals from time to time. Through his own efforts, he became a warrior and happened to meet the Iceberg.

On the eve of the college entrance exam, Shen Yi noticed Luo Feng. Gradually, he was drawn to him, and the two became kindred spirits and partners who fought side by side.
