Lin Wenzhu, a college student majoring in veterinary medicine, transmigrated into a book and ended up in a world rebuilding after the apocalypse. He became a mutant rabbit beastman and was bound to a wish-granting infrastructure-building System.
With a golden finger and the identity of the base lord's foolish son, Lin Wenzhu thought he'd live a comfortable life. To his surprise, the System told him he was merely a villainous cannon fodder destined to die early.
To change his fate, Lin Wenzhu had no choice but to maintain his original arrogant, domineering, unreasonable persona and bully the savior, Nian Shandao. Each time he played his role perfectly, he would earn a wish. Otherwise, he would be erased.
"Fine." Lin Wenzhu shook the rabbit ears on his head, his gaze cold and resolute. "I don't even know how many dogs' bells I've snipped off. My heart has long been as cold as a scalpel."
The System was very pleased with its cruel, heartless Host and promptly logged off.
When Lin Wenzhu came back to his senses, he saw a furry head poking out beside the bed. Out of habit, he reached over and tousled the fur. "Good dog."
The "good dog" looked up.
Damn, a giant gray wolf.
Everyone at the base noticed that Lin Wenzhu had changed. He had become even nastier to his lackey, Nian Shandao, the mutant werewolf.
He slapped Nian Shandao hard across the face in front of everyone in the hall, though he'd actually ordered the werewolf to lower his head so he could slap him with his soft little bunny paws.
He forced Nian Shandao to eat the most precious post-disaster chocolate bars, supposedly because he'd learned that chocolate could kill dogs.
He sent Nian Shandao to the most dangerous front lines on every mission, then claimed all his spoils when he returned, only to give him a little back each month.
After the little rabbit finished "bullying" the werewolf, he secretly crouched in a corner and counted the food and seeds he'd wished for, his rabbit eyes narrowing into happy little slits.
Nian Shandao, the lord's adopted son, had known even before the disasters that the price of enjoying the privileges of an adopted son was protecting that arrogant young master with his life for fifteen years.
The year he was slapped hard by a rabbit in front of everyone was the last of those fifteen years.
He had always been good at enduring things, but this useless rabbit had gone too far lately. Nian Shandao lost his temper, grabbed the rabbit by the neck, and lifted him into the air.
Who knew the little rabbit would stubbornly hold his head high and pull out a carrot, pointing it at Nian Shandao's arm?
"You dare hurt me?"
Nian Shandao scoffed, tightening his grip. Then a sudden sting ran through his arm.
He let go and looked down. The red-eyed little rabbit was holding a cracked carrot, its sharp, bloodstained blade tip exposed inside.
The werewolf twitched his pointed, furry ears and, for once, smiled.
"All right. You've got some bite."
