[Blue Lock] My Monster

[I firmly reject ratings of three stars or less. This is a free story written out of love. If you don't like it, please click the X and leave without a trace. Thank you.] Before the banality of everyday life could drown me, I met Bachira Meguru. The difference between geniuses and ordinary people is clear as day, like a chasm. But if that distance is even greater, beyond anyone's gaze or understanding, utterly out of place, people call it a monster. The boy's eyes shone as he told me about his monster friend, and my eyes shone as I watched him. I couldn't see the world he saw, and he didn't understand what that moment meant to me. It was the call of the extraordinary, colorless smoke on the battlefield, a bright signpost. I could see the way forward again. I decided I wanted to be his best friend for the rest of our lives. By then, the distance between us had far exceeded the limits of ordinary social boundaries. Two entirely different emotions tore at my heart, so I simply looked at him calmly and spoke, sounding both wistful and confused: "Is this really okay?" Oh dear. He took my fingertips and gave them a little shake. The monster blinked those round, golden-brown eyes of his and spoke affectionately. "What's the problem? ...After all, we're best friends for life." ◆ A Blue Lock otome story. Anyway, I'm indulging myself first ( ). A high school romance, mostly everyday life, with little soccer plot. ◆ Writing this for myself, out of love. Theme: Friends forever
