No Falling in Love

Blurb 1

The Heavenly Court isn't home only to immortals who tie the threads of love. There are also immortals who sever ill-fated relationships.

Li Chengle, a little immortal who specializes in breaking up ill-fated relationships among mortals, damages her scissors-shaped magical artifact in an accident and has no choice but to go down to the mortal world herself.

Keeping up with the times, Li Chengle joins the livestreaming scene to make sure her work stays on schedule, becoming a relationship-advice streamer who talks people into breaking up.

Before long, Li Chengle becomes famous. Her livestream viewers see the light, and the scumbags are left in despair...

A fan asks: Would Lele be this rational if she met a girl she liked?

Li Chengle declares confidently: That won't happen anytime soon!

After all, I'm an immortal. The Heavenly Court isn't going to tie me to the wrong person! Li Chengle says smugly.

Until she meets the fated match written for her.

As if struck by lightning, Li Chengle refuses three times: No, I can't, absolutely not!

Du Xiuqing asks, puzzled: What can't you do? What are you incapable of? What is absolutely not allowed?

Li Chengle: ...

Later, clutching the name written in the Book of Marriage, Li Chengle says timidly: I can do it after all.

Du Xiuqing's face is expressionless: Too late.

Blurb 2

There are immortals in Heaven whose job is to break up ill-fated relationships.

Li Chengle is one of them.

Little immortal Li Chengle has worked diligently for centuries, never expecting to break up a relationship in her own family one day.

Should she break it up or not? What a dilemma.

While she frets, she instinctively brings her hand down and cuts the thread.

Only to be told that this is actually a proper match?

In tears, Li Chengle stitches things back together, finally tying the red thread between herself and Du Xiuqing tight again, and even knotting it securely.

Just as the satisfied little immortal lets out a sigh of relief, she's told that a colleague in the Celestial Realm made a mistake and tied the two of them together by accident.

Li Chengle slams the table and leaps to her feet: They played me!

Du Xiuqing watches her mercurial lover and says with a faint smile: No, you're the one playing me.
