The day after Yuchi Media announced that Jiang Yilan had officially taken over as president, its former president, Song Yuqi, died a horrific death at home.

The media rushed to report that President Song had been overcome by lust and used marriage to keep Jiang Yilan tied to her for five years, only to abandon her after having her way. Their marriage ended in a scandalous affair and a divorce in which Song walked away with nothing. Now her ex-wife had risen to the top, while Song Yuqi had lost both love and fortune. "Song. Yu. Qi!" Her beloved's eyes brimmed with resentment, each word wrenched from her heart. "You dare!"

This time, Song Yuqi endured the spreading cold and the agony of her soul being torn apart. The corners of her eyes curved in a look of release, her voice weak but resolute.

"Yilan... don't... don't be afraid. Beyond life and death, I... belong to you too..."
