Yu Man and Zhou Yaoning had attended the same school since elementary school. They were even deskmates for all three years of high school, yet they didn't even have each other's WeChat.

As Yu Man put it, their wavelengths didn't match. In three years, they'd exchanged fewer than ten sentences.

Yu Man was cheerful and outgoing, while Zhou Yaoning was aloof and taciturn.

But neither of them knew that these weren't their true personalities.

Every day, Yu Man wondered: Did Zhou Yaoning like cheerful girls, or girls who were even more cheerful?

Every day, Zhou Yaoning wondered the same thing: Did Yu Man like aloof guys, or guys who were even more aloof?

One day after they got together, Yu Man asked Zhou Yaoning, "If I'd acted like my real self around you from the start, would you still have fallen for me?"

Zhou Yaoning lowered his eyes to look at Yu Man.

After a long while, he reached out and drew Yu Man close, gently squeezing the back of their neck. In the bright sunshine, he answered the question with a kiss.

In the end, Zhou Yaoning said:

"Then I have a lively soul to thank for truly entering my sight."
