After the Empress Won't Leave Me Alone

I'll revamp the title and blurb before I start posting. Anyway, this is an old-fashioned story with a bit of melodrama.

Abandoned consort from the Cold Palace x Empress

Other people's transmigration: Start with power and influence, sail smoothly all the way to the top of life.

Shen Gu's transmigration: She becomes an abandoned consort in the Cold Palace, never knowing where her next meal will come from, and has to support a palace maid she took in.

-

The little palace maid she took in angered the Empress and was beaten until not a patch of her skin was left unbruised.

With her eyes curved into a smile and tears streaming down her plain face, the little palace maid looked up at her like a white plum blossom.

Shen Gu's heart softened. "From now on, stay with me."

When she saw the little palace maid carrying water with her jade-white arm covered in scars, her heart ached. "The Empress is truly vicious, to have beaten you like this!"

When she saw the little palace maid wolfing down plain rice porridge, she couldn't bear it. "Her Majesty the Empress is so mean and stingy, she won't even give you food!"

When the little palace maid was hunted down and ended up covered in wounds, Shen Gu was outraged. "The Empress is ruthless. You're so weak you couldn't hurt a fly, yet she still sent people to kill you!"

Every time the little palace maid heard this, she said nothing, only gazing quietly at Shen Gu with a smile.

Later, at a palace banquet,

Shen Gu saw her pitiful little palace maid dressed in a phoenix robe, poised and dignified. The maid curled her lips into a smile as dazzling as flowers in full bloom, then walked toward her step by step.

Everyone around them shouted, "We welcome Her Majesty the Empress!"

Shen Gu knew she had gone too far.

-The poor little thing who cuddled up to me is the revered Empress of Great Zhou.

Theme: Love conquers all obstacles.
