A work-obsessed, slow-to-catch-on top x a teasing, clingy embroiderer who doesn’t realize how seductive she is
Cen Jinxi is a single woman who loves her work.
Her family practically calls her a hundred times a day, setting her up on blind dates, asking about her love life, and hinting that she should hurry up and settle down.
Cen Jinxi recently learned a new excuse. “I like women!” she lied.
Her family fell silent for more than ten seconds, hung up, and left her alone for three days.
Then a call came in. Cen Jinxi answered, and heard a cautious voice on the other end.
“Women are fine too.”
“Bring one home.”
Thinking she had bluffed her way out and could get back to work, Cen Jinxi was stunned. “Then... I’ll bring someone home?”
As soon as she hung up, Cen Jinxi saw a young woman approaching in ancient-style clothing, timidly looking around.
Cen Jinxi smiled and walked up to her. “I’ve got a job for you. Five hundred a day. Interested?”

Yun Xiu is an embroiderer. She has been surrounded by needle and thread since childhood. When her eyes are open, she embroiders; when they are closed, she dreams up patterns. With her slender fingers, flowers blossom across silk and satin.
Back then, she never imagined she could leave the little world of her bedroom.
Until she suddenly arrived in a completely unfamiliar world.
And met a kind-hearted woman in strange clothes.
That woman found her work, gave her a place to stay, taught her to use all sorts of novel devices, and even offered to teach her to read.
And... and she wanted to marry her.
Through many days and nights, Yun Xiu gazed at the woman who never hid her joy or sorrow. The other woman was always patient, smiling as she looked into Yun Xiu’s eyes, speaking words that were gentle and lovely, one after another.
Whenever that happened, Yun Xiu would lower her eyes, concealing feelings she could not quite name.
On countless inevitable nights, by the light of lamps as bright as day, she embroidered one scented sachet after another and made one garment after another.
...She would give them to Miss Cen on her birthday.
Then, the day before Cen Jinxi’s birthday, she gave Yun Xiu a sum of money. “I’ve already dealt with my family. You can go now.”
Yun Xiu looked up in shock. Tears welled in her eyes, but she forced herself not to cry. She lowered her head and tugged at Cen Jinxi’s sleeve, her voice full of grievance. “Didn’t you say we were already married?”

In this story, same-sex couples cannot legally marry, but they can hold a small wedding, so it’s sort of a marriage-first, love-later story (?)
Theme: When fate is on its way, wait patiently for good news.
