My Drawing References Come From Another World

[Slowly building up a backlog. I’ll start posting once I’ve got a decent amount saved up.]

Chu Nuan fell asleep and wouldn’t wake up. Everyone tried everything, but they couldn’t rouse her. In reality, her consciousness had drifted into a pure white space.

“...For the glory of the Lawrence family...” Chu Nuan vaguely heard a voice saying this. She looked up and saw a girl slowly approaching from the far end of the white light. She was as beautiful as someone who had stepped out of a comic. Lifting her skirt, she gracefully curtsied.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, guest from another world. May the elves bless you.”

“Do you want to live? If you make a deal with me, the you in that world won’t die.”

“...Miss?”

“Yes?”

“Is it possible that I’ve only caught a little cold? It’d be ridiculous if I died from that!” Chu Nuan freaked out.

The girl gave a faint smile, her beautiful eyes gazing tenderly at Chu Nuan.

Chu Nuan made a deal with Wendy Lawrence, a girl from another world. If Chu Nuan took her place and upheld her family’s honor, she would be able to wake up in her own world.

A year in the other world was only a day in reality, and there were models and backgrounds ready to use. She’d secretly work her way up to becoming a big name in the art world, then amaze everyone!

After returning to her original world, Chu Nuan made a name for herself in the webcomic scene. Her fans passed around a rumor about her favorite type. Apparently, every one of her comics featured a minor character with exquisite details, whose looks and personality were both a direct hit for the male lead... and every single one had white hair and golden eyes. It had to be the artist’s favorite type.

Of course, the artist herself... denied it.

Until one day, at a signing event for Chu Nuan’s new comic, a man claiming to be her boyfriend showed up dressed as the legendary white-haired, golden-eyed character.

The fans all screamed, sending their beloved artist teasing messages: “See? You still won’t admit it, even though you can’t take your eyes off him.”

As everyone teased her, Chu Nuan smiled, her eyes curving into crescents.

“He isn’t cosplaying Xiao Bai. He is my Xiao Bai.”

1. The heroine’s consciousness transmigrates to another world, and she will return to her original world later.

2. The art references are things like backgrounds and compositions in a Western fantasy style, as well as references for characters’ poses, clothes, and angles. The heroine uses them as practice materials in the other world.

3. The male lead will eventually go to the heroine’s world.

4. The characters aren’t based on real people. The inspiration came from the courtly Western fantasy comics I’ve been obsessed with lately. I hadn’t had my fill of this genre, so I’m making my own.
