Su Quan is a notorious rich playboy in City X: arrogant and overbearing, he loves partying with his no-good friends, and no one dares cross him.
Until, at seventeen, his family goes bankrupt, both his parents die, and his relatives kick him while he's down. The friends who used to crowd around him don't just leave; they even take a couple of kicks at him on their way out.
He spent the first half of his life basking in other people's flattery and praise. Then, overnight, his halo vanished, and the fall from such a height was hard to bear.
Su Quan feels like a pitiful stray dog on the street.
But even strays sometimes find someone willing to care for them. As luck would have it, Su Quan does too.
The first time he sees Tang Yichao, the man is dressed casually, with stubble on his chin. He looks like a roguish delinquent, and tells him:
"I'm a friend of your dad's. Come on, you're coming home with me. I'll take care of you."
Su Quan has just been kicked out by the people who seized his house. He kicks a stone by the roadside and spits out a threat with a cocky sneer:
"Get lost. I can make it on my own, young master doesn't need anyone to take care of him, and I don't need your pity!"
Later, at two thirty in the morning, Tang Yichao finds this young master who insists he doesn't need anyone's help under a bridge.
He takes him home and even cooks him a bowl of noodles. The young master eats three whole bowls through his tears, crying as he eats:
"...This is so good."
