The Great Author

Lin Qingwei, a famous screenwriter, transmigrated into the daughter of a family of scholars, a little lady raised among the fields, books, and poetry.

Unfortunately, her once distinguished family had fallen into ruin. They were now poor as church mice, living in a dilapidated house with a leaky roof.

The only thing of value they had left was her betrothal to the seventh young master of the Han family.

The Han family had flourished for three hundred years and produced countless scions of a great house.

The seventh young master, Han Xu, was handsome, intelligent, skilled with bow and horse, an excellent rider and archer, widely read in the classics, and a man of literary talent. He passed the imperial examinations at a young age and became a trusted aide to the emperor and an important court official.

But Lin Qingwei didn’t waste a moment after arriving. She went straight to break off the engagement in exchange for a hundred taels of silver.

She could patch the leaky roof and fix the broken stove,

then buy a brush and a ream of paper, write a little, and earn some money.
