The New Writer in Beika Town

[Upcoming novels: The Novelist Changes Class to Card Maker and Enchanted: Yokohama's Perfume Town. See the pinned comment for their blurbs.]

Shimizu Kiyoi gradually realized that Mihua Town was every bit as remarkable as Yokohama. It was a place of outstanding people and natural beauty, where even seven-year-olds had incredibly eventful lives.

She found endless inspiration there, so she once again abandoned her moderately successful pen name, Sanshui You, and took the name Chris, becoming one of the many mystery novelists in town.

"Have you written anything, Miss Shimizu?" asked a curious grade-schooler who shared her friend's last name, one of her sources of inspiration.

Shimizu Kiyoi nodded. "I've managed to write a few stories I'm fairly happy with..."

1. The Library's Terrifying Night: A detective with emerald-green cat eyes raised her cape and stood on a bookshelf, looking down at everyone. "Ready for an adventure, kids?"

2. The Masked Lady on the Train: She was like a wisp of gray smoke, casually changing shape as she drifted among the passengers. No one noticed her disguise.

3. The Wild Swan: Have you ever seen her dance? She danced with such intensity, like a wild swan burning up her life force in a desperate bid to fly.

4. ...
