The Princess Fears Nothing (Qing Dynasty)

The main story is told in the third person.

My name is Yarha, and I am a princess.

They say my mother hoped I would be graceful, dignified, and well-mannered, so she gave me this name.

I live in the eastern side hall of Chengqian Palace in the Forbidden City. I was born in the sixth month of the twenty-second year of the Kangxi reign. I have one Fourth Brother, along with lots of brothers and sisters whose names are numbers.

Mother says I'm adorable, healthy, lively, and a good baby.

I think so too.

I am the most, most, most adorable princess in the Forbidden City.

But Fourth Brother says I like to shriek, I'm mean, and I'll eat anything.

Crown Prince Brother covers my ears and tells me not to listen. Those are bad reviews.

I kick Fourth Brother hard in the shin. "How dare you slander the noble Great Yarha!"

Father says I was born to get back at him.

Mother says I'm clever and know how to treat people according to their station.

Fourth Brother says whoever inherits the throne will have to inherit me too.

Hooray! Congratulations to Father for his incredible staying power and for earning the Best Caregiver achievement!

P.S. This is a semi-alternate-history story set in the Qing Dynasty. Just read it for fun.

The protagonist has her own career arc, and an official love interest after she comes of age.
