The Everyday Life of Consort Cheng (A Qing-Era Transmigration)

Wenzhu transmigrated into the body of a young bondservant girl of the Bordered Yellow Banner during the Kangxi era.

The good news: Her family doted on her, and once she turned thirteen, they paid to exempt her from the bondservant girls' palace selection. She wouldn't have to enter the palace as a maid.

The bad news: The emperor had appointed a Crown Prince, and the palace was short-staffed, so she had no choice but to go in after all.

Luckily, the aunt in charge of the maids at the Palace of Heavenly Purity was her own cousin, who looked after her especially well.

Life as a palace maid was actually pretty good.

Food, clothing, housing, and transportation were all taken care of. There were spring pancakes and aiwowo rice cakes in spring, chilled bowls and sweet melons and lotus roots in summer, whole roast lamb and pear paste in autumn, and hotpots and lamb soup in winter. Wenzhu coasted along at the Palace of Heavenly Purity and managed to keep herself in excellent health.

Then Kangxi took a liking to her and sent her off to the imperial harem.

Wenzhu: Going from serving others to being served isn't so bad.

P.S. This is an unserious Qing dynasty transmigration story, set in a semi-alternate world. Please don't nitpick the historical details.

The romance begins after the female lead comes of age.

Theme: Love others and yourself.
