Renee is the classic "stupid woman" in horror and suspense films.
Only after her death did she discover that she was the heroine and the male lead's ex-wife in the first season of the hit sci-fi thriller The Progenitor.
According to the director's vision, Renee is a self-righteous yet selfish woman, with a pretty face and a melancholy air. Indecisive and insecure, her main purpose is to make foolish mistakes at every critical moment, waver between choices, and disrupt the harmony of the main cast.
Fortunately, Renee is written out of the story soon. Her suspicious death also ushers in the horror, and The Progenitor's story begins with her death. After that, its ratings keep climbing until it becomes a legendary hit watched by the entire nation.
When Renee wakes up again, she finds herself lying in a coffin. She has become an immortal monster.
The Progenitor 1: Silent Gaze
Sheriff Josephine moves from New York to the rural town of Wenmanting to escape his trauma. There, he unexpectedly encounters the person he least wants to see: his ex-wife, whom he has already broken up with.
She has a new lover. As she cares for her stepson, who suffers from mutism, her face is always clouded with melancholy and worry. The man with one hand resting on her slender waist has a pair of dark red eyes.
Reason tells him he should stay away from this relationship that once tormented him. But Renee's tears seem to have a strange power. As expected, the usually upright sheriff rekindles his old flame with her. His long, icy fingers brush her soft lips, lingering there as he kisses away her falling tears.
This illicit romance, always on the verge of coming together and drifting apart, nearly makes him betray his principles.
The handsome sheriff doesn't yet know that this is only the beginning of the nightmare.
The day after a heated argument, Renee dies. She lies unconscious, the monster having drained all the blood from her body. Her beautiful corpse is cold forever.
Consumed by the deepest hatred, he sets out on a journey to avenge his wife, exposing the wounds of an ancient vampire family and even ushering in a war between humans and vampires.
The Progenitor 5: Unnatural Desire
Josephine, leader of the Holy Tribunal, has killed the last vampire progenitor.
On a sunny afternoon, he takes the beautiful silver-mercury holy gun from his drawer. The phone rings, and he casually switches on speakerphone. His long fingers calmly load a bullet. As the cold barrel presses against his chin, his trusted assistant hesitantly tells him over the phone:
His beloved wife has risen from her coffin.
And is now hooking up with his brother-in-arms, the man who has faced death alongside him.

Renee has ended an exhausting relationship. Fortunately, her screenwriting career is finally making some progress, and she has also met a more considerate partner, exceptional in both looks and character. She and her fiance move out of New York to the town of Wenmanting on Connecticut's Gold Coast.
Her fiance Hugh has all the virtues one could hope for in an older partner: he is wealthy, worldly, refined, understanding, and emotionally steady. Renee gets along reasonably well with her "stepson," too. The poor boy is a brilliant student, though he suffers from mutism. He always nods to her politely and mouths the word "Mother" with his thin lips.
If Josephine hadn't suddenly arrived, her new life in this town would have been peaceful and sweet.
But after Renee wakes up, the whole world has changed.
She covers her face and cries in despair. She has become a monster, perhaps the last pureblood vampire in the world. No one will ever love her again. Even the ever-loyal Josephine has become the leader of a crusade, vowing to send all vampires to the depths of the earth.
Then someone cups her face and licks away her tears. He has a familiar face and seems to have been badly injured while digging her out of the coffin. He calls her "My Lady" and "Mother," always smiling gently. He says, "No matter what Mother becomes, I will always love her. Whatever Renee does is right."
Renee doesn't know whether to be happy or sad.
Reader's guide:
1. A melodramatic, angsty romance about a beloved wife, featuring forced love, devoted female worship, nonhuman characters, and taboo relationships. This is not a female-power fantasy.
2. The heroine is indecisive, flawed, and morally questionable, yet unconditionally adored by everyone. She loves whoever treats her well. She has a weak moral compass as a human, and an even weaker one after becoming something else. Don't judge her by human standards. If she's happy, she doesn't care which male lead is crying.
3. There are male supporting characters beyond the ones mentioned in the blurb. The men suffer emotionally and physically. The heroine is not a virgin, while the men are. Please take note.
4. The ex-husband dies early. The stepson, Wendrick, is the result of an embrace. Every man has been chaste for Renee since birth. The heroine does not cheat while married.
5. I started this on a whim and am writing as I go from a rough outline, indulging myself. I have no idea how it will turn out. Maybe evil vampire Renee will end up ruling the world...
