The Dead Words Suddenly Started Attacking Me

[Slow-burn, illness-and-forum-story warning. Updates are irregular.] [Revisions and wrap-up in progress!] [Main story is told in third person.] I am Naruko Kan, pen name Hirasaka Einosuke. For a wildly popular novelist with an "85% obsessive fan" ratio, saying I have no inspiration for my new work feels impossible. I write under secret identities when my personality splits. I accidentally exposed one, leading readers to believe my two pen names belonged to two separate writers. The scandalous tale of my main account and my alt account's love-hate relationship shot to the top of the trending topics, and I was swept into a messy public-relations storm. Even making my assistant Akutagawa "take the fall" was no use. To escape it all, I made an excuse. At my new book's launch, I said the dead words had suddenly started attacking me, and that my symptoms involved transmigrating into my own chuuni trash novels and experiencing the characters' emotions and physical sensations. My readers were only half convinced. My assistant Akutagawa, who moonlights for the Mafia behind my back, thought I was having an episode. Just as I was about to take some time off, it really happened. * Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me, but lately strange people who claim to be my devoted readers have been showing up one after another. They say they've seen me in my books and that we once promised ourselves to each other, or loved and hated each other. Utter lunacy. Some are even more worked up, saying they have too much psychological trauma and want to kill me. It's like the return of a deranged, obsessive lover. Looking around, I see several senior Mafia executives, a retired salaryman sorcerer, and an impoverished calamity god... Not one of them is normal. They all seem like inexplicable, chuuni real-life winners. I've decided to wholesale them and feed them to Akutagawa. [Reading Guide] Content Warnings! Please Read! *Illness-and-madness fiction (in every sense). Not a strong female lead story. A lethal dose of forum posts and fiction-within-fiction. You don't need to know the original crossover series to enjoy it. There are forum storylines about idol debuts and other things. It has many flaws, and I'll revise it later. *The protagonist's pen names aren't publicly linked to her real identity. She uses secret identities of different genders, so there are elements of pseudo-cross-dressing and uncertainty about the identity behind a pen name! If that's not your thing, this may be a trigger. The work has old-school tropes. I was very eclectic and inexperienced when I wrote it, and it has many flaws. Thank you for your understanding and corrections! *Before the secret identity "Hirasaka Einosuke" is exposed, readers believe the author is the gender of that secret identity. The fandom culture in the story includes headcanons, idol worship, all kinds of update begging, shipping crossover couples, and more!!! Please take note!!! *Everyday life and transmigrating into a book both involve the protagonist's real gender. The reveal later does too. All the men are straight, and when they realize they have feelings for the female lead, they know she's a woman. This is already shown in the free chapters. Feel free to try a sample before deciding whether to continue. If secret identities, forum posts, or old-school cross-dressing tropes are a trigger for you, please don't force yourself to read it. If you come across a part where the logic falls apart, don't doubt yourself. I really did write it badly T_T ①: A low-key, vaguely otherworldly heroine with an indistinct, youthful quality. Everyone is her obsessive fan or a fan of her books. OOC warning. Extremely dense internet memes and a high level of mind-numbing content. I'm very sorry if it makes you uncomfortable. When I started, I probably just wanted to write a story about a chaotic, mischievous author whom everyone both loves and hates, and who forms bonds in everyday life. I'll revise it from time to time. I'm not responsible if pirated versions don't line up or have been changed. ②: Very slow-burn pacing. Extra updates depend on how much I can write (sometimes I suddenly write a lot). I started this on a whim. Please don't take it too seriously or conflate it with real life. Theme: Life and writing are both too precious to neglect!
