A Utopian Love

1: Lu Pei met Yu Ren while vacationing in a foreign country. He remembered that Yu Ren worked in research, always wore a spotless shirt and slacks, always had an elegant watch, and carried a faint trace of perfume. When Yu Ren spoke, he was like a piece of candy, and Lu Pei's heart melted as he listened.

2: They held hands on streets bathed in the sunset, watched the sun go down, bought each other flowers, sat by the river in the early morning drinking coffee, and leaned against a bench to share brief kisses.

Lu Pei posted a line on his social media feed: I feel like I'm dreaming.

A few months later, he rewrote it.

Time to wake up.

He booked his flight, left the bed still warm with passion, and left behind a still-sleeping Yu Ren and a card.

A rose lay beside it.

3: Lu Pei later returned to his home country to teach. As usual, that day he carried a cup of Americano, with his key card hanging around his neck, when the elevator chimed.

Lu Pei caught the familiar scent of perfume. Looking up, he saw Yu Ren, who still had that same gentle air about him.

Yu Ren: "Are you free this afternoon, Mr. Lu?"

Lu Pei looked at him and came back to himself. "I am."

"Have a meal with me," Yu Ren said with a smile.

He stepped out of the elevator and left Lu Pei with a single line by his ear: "Since that day, I've never seen a rose more beautiful than that one."

1v1, HE.

I hesitated for a while, but I still want to start...
