Burp! My Roommate in the Bunk Above Is a Burping Machine

I'm not writing this after all. I'm switching to another story, so I'll leave it here for now.

1: At the start of the new semester, he moves into a double dorm room and meets a fair-skinned, well-behaved boy.

The boy is called Yun Xiao, and he has a problem: he can't lie.

Whenever he lies, he gets the hiccups, and when he hiccups, his face turns red with embarrassment. He wishes the ground would swallow him up.

Yun Xiao resolves to keep his secret, treat people sincerely, and be an honest, trustworthy young man.

2: On his first day in the dorm, he looks up and runs right into his new roommate, Xie Yu.

The guy is shirtless, crouching on the floor while putting together a chair. He looks like a sunny, handsome college student, and he flashes Yun Xiao a brilliant smile.

Yun Xiao stares, gripping the strap of his schoolbag tightly.

Xie Yu smiles. "Am I handsome?"

Yun Xiao secretly swallows, then replies like an idiot, "Yes."

3: Later, a sudden downpour catches Yun Xiao without an umbrella after class. He stands helplessly at the entrance to the teaching building, pacing in little circles.

Xie Yu calls him. "Want me to come get you?"

Yun Xiao answers without thinking. "No, hic!"

Xie Yu: "…"

Xie Yu shows up with an umbrella, bringing only one, and insists on carrying Yun Xiao back to the dorm.

Yun Xiao messages his family: I'm so lucky. My roommate is great.

His inner voice: But something about this feels kind of weird...

4: Before bed, Xie Yu sits downstairs watching a horror movie.

Yun Xiao sits in the top bunk, wrapped up in his blanket like a little mouse, poking his head out to sneak a look.

His big eyes are wide open. Xie Yu suddenly turns around, and they stare at each other for a long moment.

Xie Yu smiles. "Is it good?"

Yun Xiao says quietly, "Yes."

Xie Yu gets up and walks over, resting an arm on the bed rail as he watches Yun Xiao with a smile. "Who's better-looking, me or the movie?"

A hiccup is just about to escape Yun Xiao's throat.

He swallows it down and honestly replies, "You."

He doesn't hiccup, but his face turns even redder than it does when he does.

One-on-one, happy ending, sweet romance
