After He Read My Mind, the Emperor Took My Place in the Palace Schemes (Transmigrated into a Book)

Xu Xuan transmigrated into the body of an unfavored imperial consort. Before she could figure out how to survive, she was bound to a plot-progression System.

"The plot says you have to meet someone in private at Xuanhe Hall. Complete the task and you'll receive one Beauty Pill. Fail, and you'll be punished with ten seconds of electric shock."

Xu Xuan frowned as soon as she heard that. An imperial consort meeting someone in secret inside the palace? That was like carrying a lantern into the latrine to look for shit.

To stay alive, she decided to silently accept the punishment.

"The plot says you have to drug Consort Qi. Complete the task and you'll receive one Strength Pill. Fail, and you'll be punished with fifty seconds of electric shock."

Emperor Chengxuan heard the words "fifty seconds of electric shock" and silently handed Consort Qi a cup of tea laced with laxatives.

Emperor Chengxuan had only just ascended the throne, and internal strife and external threats had left him struggling to keep his position. Life was incredibly difficult.

Then one day, he suddenly gained the ability to hear the imperial consort's thoughts. He learned that she was bound to a plot-progression System.

When he realized that the consort would be punished if she failed her tasks, he looked forward to watching the show.

But after the first task was issued, he discovered a terrifying fact!

If the imperial consort failed a task, he was the one who got punished.

Emperor Chengxuan had just been electrocuted until his face flushed and his breathing grew ragged. Why should the consort get all the good things while he had to silently take the punishment?
