After I Got Tangled Up with a Possessive Sea Monster

In the year 3000, the oceans swallowed the land. Humanity migrated one hundred thousand miles beneath the sea, built new cities, and fought off mutated sea monsters.

The sea monsters were all ferocious, but Ning En was the most vicious of them all, and its body was full of valuable materials. Its sharp claws and fangs could be made into weapons, while its hard shell could be used for defense.

The Public Affairs Office had kept a bounty on Ning En for 399 years, and nobody had ever completed the mission. Ning En was a once-in-a-century sight, and anyone who encountered it was sure to die.

Shen Jiao had long suspected that the bounty was a hoax.

Until one day, a strange-looking sea monster trapped her in a coral cave. The little creature was skinny and tiny, looking as if it had never had a proper meal in its life.

Unable to bear the way it stared at her blankly, Shen Jiao fished out a small sea fish she'd just caught and held it to its mouth.

“...Here, have some.”

After that, she kept running into the poor little sea monster from time to time.

Humans called Ning En vicious, and the ocean named it the foremost of all evil monsters.

Ning En neither listened nor spoke. It silently collected its shells and raised the pearls it loved most.

Until one day, humans stole a shell it had been raising for three hundred years.

After a long search, it finally found its pearl: the soft, fragrant little girl.

Whenever the little girl saw it, she smiled, her two tiny dimples soft and warm. Just as it couldn't resist wanting to poke them, its pearl held up a little sea fish and offered it to eat.

[It, the lord of the ocean, would never eat trash fish like this!]

Its sharp claws curled against its leg, and in the end, it couldn't hold back. It reached out and took the fish.

[Sniffle, sniffle, it smells so good!]
