Can an Amnesiac NPC Become Someone's White Moonlight?

After waking up with no memories, Asakawa Rikan was told that he was actually an NPC. His empty, dull, blue-green eyes remained calm and expressionless as he gave a dazed nod.

And so, as an NPC who filled in the gaps in the plot, the innocent and clueless Asakawa Rikan began clutching the chip on his chest as he completed missions in various instanced worlds.

World One: Reminiscence

Young Master (185 cm) x Shadow Double

When the young master Gojo was five, his family arranged for him to have a double. Though he was the one who disdained the arrangement most, he was unconsciously filled with possessiveness, completely unaware of it himself, until... after taking a fatal blow for him, the other's body began to break apart and fade away, along with the long, flowing strands of silver-white hair behind him, all turning into specks of starlight.

And so, for the first time, the Six-Eyed Child felt what it meant to suffocate.

And what it meant to remember.

World Two: Reunion

A peaceful life was destined to be shattered.

The puppy from back then had become the Demon Slayer Corps' strongest Sun Hashira, and at last, he had found the elf he had brought home from the snowy woods all those years ago.

Snow-white hair, the same familiar features.

He wanted to protect him forever, but kept his love hidden and unspoken.

Unfortunately, what was found again would be lost again.

World Three: Dependence

Mafia, family, a battle for supremacy. As long as you're by my side, I have nothing to fear.

The flames of the Sky need clear, pure air to keep burning.

“I'll always stay by your side.”

Shh, don't speak. Someone is lying.

After completing every mission, Asakawa Rikan remained just as clueless as ever. Then he received word that all the worlds were about to merge.

Everyone began searching for the same person in the same world. If they could find that person again...

This time, they would never lose him again.

Absolute possession.

Unable to understand what was happening, the NPC stood dazed on a street corner amid the grand chaos of time and space, until someone came over, reached out, and said, “Come with me.”

He didn't know. He didn't understand. He simply nodded and answered, “Mm.”

A god descended to inspect the mortal world and happened to meet a young man. They took up the question of whether humans could regain their emotions, wagering the power of the gods, and began a grand game spanning all of time and space.

And so the god sealed away his memories and descended into the mortal world.

So which side will win the wager and cradle that unattainable white moonlight in their hands?

Present day, Japan, Yokohama. A small boy with bandages wrapped around him sat on a bridge, watching the river with his legs swinging. He smiled and said:

“They all have their own selfish reasons for wanting you. I'm the only one who came for you alone, from the very beginning.

Bring down divine punishment upon me, and save me too. I truly need you, my god.”

P.S.:

1. A character who grows over time. At first, he is emotionless and blank. He begins to change in the middle and later parts of the second section, and becomes rather aloof and world-weary when he returns to his divine nature.

2. The truth will be revealed amid the chaos, and the contest for the god, the white moonlight, will officially begin.

3. The pairing is undecided. Some ambitious side characters who are not romance targets are also waiting for their chance to act.

Hoshizawa Naka, the owner of an unremarkable cafe in Yokohama, worked diligently at the shop every day.

Until one day, comments appeared on the screen, informing him that he had opened an “NPC Promotion Livestream.”

The “Promotion Livestream” connected directly to the real world. Its purpose was to give extras the chance to become official characters. They could livestream their everyday lives and interesting stories, and the NPC with the most discussion would be promoted to a real character.

Hoshizawa Naka didn't really care. He carried on with life as usual, pouring latte art with one hand while typing with the other, and changed the livestream's name to “New Game Plus Cafe.”

The stream only recorded the cafe's daily business, and there were very few comments.

Then one day, just before closing, a few customers came in:

“I've finished taking care of that East District deal, so I came by for a cup of coffee.”

“Long time no see, Naka-chan! I was passing by while taking my students on a mission, so I thought I'd come in and support your business!”

“I flew to Japan on business, so I'm stopping by for a drink. The cafes in Italy just don't suit my taste.”

The comments gradually grew excited:

[Holy crap, isn't that the executive? Why's he in a tiny cafe like this?!]

[My fave! It's your white-haired teacher, 5t5!]

[Am I seeing things? Who's that??? My husband Hibari, ]

A month later, the “New Game Plus Cafe” livestream suddenly went viral. The comments regularly topped ten thousand, with viewers either asking the owner to show his face more often or demanding that he hurry up and release merch.

Hoshizawa Naka (sipping coffee) (waving his hand): I said, life's going on as usual, unless you pay me...

One week later, the livestream started selling products.

Two weeks later, the real deal joined in to sell products too.

A month later, everyone was singing and dancing on the livestream.

A fun fact kept scrolling through the comments:

Hoshizawa Naka really was an NPC, but in his first playthrough, he was an NPC with a secret identity.

The “New Game Plus Cafe” livestream kept growing in popularity, with discussion far outstripping all others. Hoshizawa Naka's promotion to a real character was just around the corner.

However, one day before the livestream statistics were finalized, the “New Game Plus Cafe” livestream suddenly disappeared, and all records of this NPC vanished.

To find their god, who was eating, drinking, and having fun in a lower-level timeline, the Systems jointly organized the first NPC Promotion Livestream, with the goal of tracking him down.

Just as the most popular and mysterious livestream appeared and they were about to pinpoint him, it suddenly vanished. A thorough search turned up nothing.

At one point, a passerby on the streets of Yokohama, with an arm around a beautiful long-haired woman, turned around and pointed his fingers like a gun at the surveillance camera in the higher-level timeline, silently greeting it:

Hellooo~~ Bang!
