The Body-Double Cycle

Ji Qing had a bad reputation in the fashion world.

People said he had debased himself by becoming a stand-in for the eldest young master of the Jin family, and had only achieved success and gained opportunities because of it.

The industry was full of all kinds of people. No one should have mocked him for an unspoken rule everyone knew about.

But there was one problem.

The eldest young master of the Jin family was dead.

They said he'd died while searching for his true love.

That made Ji Qing the biggest joke of all.

The funniest part was that, three years after the death of the eldest young master, Jin Bei, Jin Wang, a younger distant relative of the Jin family and Jin Bei's nephew in name only, fell for Ji Qing, becoming completely besotted with him and pursuing him relentlessly.

Ji Qing turned him down countless times. Sick of the whole thing, he finally gave up and told the other man to be Jin Bei's stand-in for him.

The other man agreed.

But as they spent day after day together, Ji Qing realized…

How could this stand-in be so much like her dead ex-husband?!

The gong is reborn three years later, can't win his wife back despite pursuing her desperately, and ends up becoming his own stand-in for her.

A cycle of stand-ins (no)

They're both the real deal (!)

I wrote a little of this story before, but I felt the writing wasn't right, so I locked it away. I really love this premise, though, so I'm posting it now and will slowly revise the main story.
