[Female-Dominated World] How Do I Deal With Being Jilted from the Start?

When Su Jin first arrived, the family wasn't quite on the verge of collapse, but it was certainly in tatters.

Looking up, she saw her mother's memorial tablet. Looking down, she saw her brother crying himself unconscious. Ahead, her grandfather stamped his feet and beat his chest in grief; behind her, servants looked down their noses at everyone.

And thousands of miles away in Chang'an, someone was waiting for an imperial edict to confiscate the Prince of Qin's supporters' property, as well as Su Jin's broken engagement letter.

Faced with this "dream start," Su Jin, who knew the plot inside out, was completely unfazed.

Because she knew the old emperor's affection for the Prince of Qin was comparable to Emperor Taizong's love for Li Chengqian, or Zhu Yuanzhang's for Zhu Biao.

After the Prince of Qin, banished to the southern desert, fought his way back to the capital and successfully ascended the throne, Su Jin, who was both a mama's girl and a shameless toady, would enjoy a glorious retirement.

But before she could rise to the top overnight, she first had to deal with the funeral at home and her fiance's family's emissary. Then she had to flatter the Prince of Qin from thousands of miles away, making absolutely sure the future emperor remembered the Su family's life-saving kindness and timely support.

Seeing his granddaughter grow up overnight after suffering such a terrible humiliation and work hard to keep the Su family afloat, Grandfather Su was both moved and ashamed that he, an old man confined to the inner quarters, couldn't do much to help. All he could do was find a matchmaker to settle his granddaughter's future after her mourning period ended.

Su Jin, who was preparing to work herself to the bone in the bureaucracy: "??" Wasn't she following a script about rising through the ranks and making a fortune? How had it turned into an adults-only story?

Theme: Persevere and keep striving.
