Officer Matsuda's Humanoid Superpower

Also known as The Plan to Save Officer Matsuda's Stand-In

Literary blurb:

I'm a humanoid Ability, and my name is Hagiwara Kenji. To be precise, I got that name from a person who looks exactly like me. That person was my master's childhood friend.

A few years ago, my master's Hagi died, and a me who looked exactly the same was born into this world. So I became the new "Hagi."

I'm a replacement, you know? Isn't that how it works in novels?

My master, Mazda-chan, and I are connected in spirit.

I have my thoughts, he has his. If we want to, we can know what the other is thinking, though he's never done it even once.

You're clever, but you've never tried to understand Abilities, and you don't even know that humanoid Abilities aren't supposed to have their own consciousness, do you, Little Jinpei? Even if you did know, you wouldn't care, right?

Because the whole reason I exist is so you won't forget him.

When... will you look at me as myself, not as that "Hagi"?

If my personality is the same and my memories are the same, and he died on the very day I was born, how can anyone tell whether I'm me or him?

Little Jinpei, in your eyes, am I a friend or a lover?

I've seen the hand you want to reach out, and the way you want to kiss me.

That means you belong to me, right?

So let me hold you tight.

Comedic blurb:

Ever since Matsuda got a humanoid Ability, he's been spending all his time with it, treating it just like Hagiwara.

It would be great if that could comfort him, but the surprising thing is... this humanoid Ability actually has its own consciousness!

Even while working undercover (and putting on an act) inside the Black Organization, which exists to scam people out of funding, Amuro Tooru can't tolerate this behavior.

He joins Morofushi Hiromitsu and Date Wataru in launching a plan to save the stand-in...

They swear they'll tear the two of them away from this melodramatic stand-in romance!

A few days later, the humanoid Ability kisses Matsuda in front of everyone and calls himself Hagi.

The three of them: …

Help, what are we supposed to do when the people involved have given up fighting it?!

Reader's note:

HagiMatsu. Nothing else really needs saying, does it?

Bring on the pure-love melodrama.
