The Foolish Beauty Doesn't Want to Be the Foil Female Lead

Zhen Wanqi came from a distinguished family and was beautiful. Even if she was a little dimwitted, it didn't stop her from marrying Sheng Zhenghai, the eldest son of the Sheng Group. They weren't exactly a loving couple, but they got along well enough, the model business-alliance spouses.

Until one day, she woke from a dream.

Only then did Zhen Wanqi realize she was merely a cannon-fodder supporting character in a novel, there to highlight the heroine's goodness and purity.

The heroine, who also came from a wealthy family, concealed her identity and entered show business through a talent competition. She worked her way up to become a hugely popular actress, earning everyone's praise for her personality. After marrying the man she'd been dating for years, they were a deeply loving couple with a sweet relationship.

By comparison, Zhen Wanqi had entered show business to play around, relying on her family background. She bullied other stars and acted like a spoiled tyrant, bringing the whole internet down on her. Her marriage was just an ordinary alliance between wealthy families, and the couple were cold toward each other.

When both families appeared on the same variety show, Zhen Wanqi's family became the heroine's foil. The couple barely interacted, their conversations were awkward and fake, and they flaunted their wealth at every turn. They were mercilessly face-slapped, and to make matters worse, the Sheng Group's reputation was ruined, its stock price plummeted, and it came close to bankruptcy.

Thinking about the dream, Zhen Wanqi cried so hard she was a complete mess.

What shocked her most was that her husband never divorced her, even in the end?

Sob, Sheng Zhenghai, you're such a good person!

Zhen Wanqi resolved to diligently save up a little private money, so that she could still support her husband after the Sheng Group went bankrupt.

Sheng Zhenghai, male, twenty-eight years old.

He has a little secret: his marriage to his wife was never a business alliance. In fact... he'd been in love with her for years.

His only regret is that...

His silly wife stubbornly insists they're in a business marriage, and is very keen on acting like a model couple in front of other people.

Especially lately.

As he watched his wife keep handing him good-person cards, Sheng Zhenghai was troubled.

When he heard that his wife had started saving private money and wanted to support him, he became even more troubled. How was he supposed to tell his darling wife that their company was about to become the industry leader?
