Who Is Gin? I Only Know Kurosawa Jin

[Trying to get this one started as my next novel]

Kurosawa Yu always thought his life was harmonious and happy. He had a steady job he loved, a capable and obedient younger brother, and plenty of money and love. He was very satisfied with his life as it was.

Until one day, his brother returned from a business trip and opened the front door. Yu smiled and said, "Welcome back," then stared in shock as his worldview shattered. What on earth were those things floating above his brother's head?

[Congratulations on starting a new novel!]

[Is the protagonist Gin's older brother?]

[They're not blood-related! Ahhh, pseudo-incest, I'm so in!]

He shakily reached out, trying to grab one of the scrolling lines of text, but his hand met nothing.

Kurosawa Yu realized that something seemed to be wrong with this world. He asked his younger brother seriously, "Don't you feel like there's something off about this world?"

His brother didn't answer.

Staring at the comments still flying past, Yu caught sight of one name appearing again and again. Perplexed, he asked, "By the way, who's Gin? Do you know him?"

The room was brightly lit, but outside it was pitch-black.

His younger brother stood motionless, an indescribable expression crossing his face. He put his left hand in his pocket, as if gripping something.

He answered, "I don't know. Did something happen while I was away, Brother?"

Gin realized when he was very young that if you wanted something good, you had to make yourself stronger and then take it by force.

Beautiful things were fragile. The only way to protect them was to put them in a glass box.

The glass box had to be sturdy, exquisite, and warm. It had to protect you, yet make you lose yourself inside it.

Note:

1. Gin is the top, Kurosawa Yu is the bottom.

2. Some of the setting was inspired by The Truman Show.

3. The protagonist and Gin are not blood-related and aren't registered in the same household.
