After his threat, the person inside finally opened it.

The man stood there with a dark expression, radiating the frigid authority of a man in power. His deep eyes fixed firmly on hers.

Qiao Yici put on the haughty expression she was so proud of. "What are you doing here?"

"What do you think?"

"I don't know. Leave." The already narrow gap in the door quickly shrank.

The man's leather shoe stopped the door at the bottom of the frame. His expression turned stormy. "You've gotten bold. You ran this far without saying a word."

Qiao Yici shot back, "I didn't ask you to come find me."

The man leisurely loosened his tie. "Well, now I'm here. What are you going to do about it?"

"...Didn't you hear them say I'm a gold digger?" Qiao Yici backed away step by step.

"Yes, I heard." Xie Wei answered nonchalantly, raising a hand to push the door wider. "I've got money. Come and dig."

His tone was casual and mocking. "You left without a word. I thought maybe I hadn't made you feel good enough that night."
