Sunshine Falls on the Distillery

Kamiya Gen was a chuunibyou with an overabundance of justice from the time he was little. For twenty-five years, he firmly believed he wanted to become a beacon of light, so when he grew up, he became an upright, respectable police officer.

Until one day, when his superior summoned him, and he realized that perhaps he wasn't quite as upright and respectable as he thought.

*Superior: Inspector Kamiya, we need you to infiltrate a dangerous criminal organization.

A Gen: Sure, no problem. So what should I do?

Superior: First, you need to arrest your biological father.

A Gen: ...Arrest him.

Superior: Then take his place as the leader of the criminal organization.

A Gen: ...Become the leader.

Kamiya Gen slowly typed out a question mark.

Is there something wrong with me, with you, or with this world?!

I just want to be a proper champion of justice. How did I end up as a candidate to lead a criminal organization?!

*An irresponsible little skit:

One day, the liquor distillery held a company outing, and everyone started talking about why they'd joined the organization.

Akai Shuichi: I fell in love with someone at first sight.

Amuro Toru: Of course, because it's fun.

Vermouth: A secret makes a woman woman.

Gin: Hmph.

A Gen: You probably won't believe me, but my name was at the top of the boss's successor list even before I was born.

*A Gen is a mature adult x a mature chuunibyou. Specifically, he is twenty-six and still wants to become Ultraman.

*The main story begins when A Gen is fifteen.
