After graduating, Xie Li was beaten down by society for three months. By a twist of fate, he inherited an antique shop and was forced to become a half-baked cultural relic restorer.
The shop was shabby and run-down, looking as if it could be condemned as unsafe any second. It hardly inspired confidence.
On top of that, he inherited an “ancestor” who was completely nuts, but unbelievably good-looking.
His job was to repair and maintain the antiques in the shop... except these antiques seemed to be more than they appeared?
He thought that was strange enough, but the customers turned out to be truly astonishing!
On TV, the Best Actor was being interviewed. In person, he stood right in front of Xie Li and held out an arm, revealing an elbow that had turned to bronze.
A famous novelist came straight to him after a book signing, transformed into an original manuscript, and asked him to repair its pages.
The nation’s beloved dad came to the shop after work instead of going home, transformed back into his original golden Pixiu form, and asked Xie Li to file down his gold tooth.
And then there was the Romance of the Three Kingdoms manuscript, which was fond of overpowered hero fiction; an emperor’s seal that wanted to stamp every painting and calligraphy work it saw; and a bronze zodiac animal that dragged its brothers across the ocean...
Later, when asked what he thought of his job, Xie Li simply said, “The side effects are severe.”
So severe that every time he saw the Best Actor in an action scene on TV, he couldn’t help wanting to call the police and sue them for damaging cultural relics.
Don’t ask. It just hurts too much.
He heard that the ancestor he inherited along with the shop had lived for countless years, and that not a single artifact in the shop dared defy him.
Once Xie Li found out, he was always careful around him. Unfortunately, the ancestor inexplicably insisted on repaying Xie Li’s kindness.
Much later, the ancestor looked down at him with cool, haughty elegance. “I forgive your insolence. Go on.”
Xie Li: Repaying me is one thing, but what do you mean by offering yourself to me?!
Reading Guide:
1. The bottom is not a normal human in the traditional sense. Amnesia trope, reborn tag highlighted!!
2. Most likely a everyone-loves-him and group-pampering story. There are reasons for all the pampering, but I won’t go into detail because of spoilers.
3. Set in a fictional world. The author is an amateur, and so is the protagonist. The methods of restoring cultural relics are very unusual, and this is not a realistic restoration profession, so please don’t nitpick.

Yet in places invisible to the living, technology in the underworld was advancing at a terrifying pace, too.
Vengeful ghosts’ yin energy generated electricity, blessed prayer beads served as bullets, and the ghost officers’ uniforms were dazzlingly colorful and could transform in seventy-two different ways...
By day, Cui Jue got an earful from his high school teacher over his brain-computer interface. At night, he used a cyber Book of Life and Death to drive out ghosts and pray for blessings on behalf of his bad-tempered teacher.
His motto: repay kindness for resentment :).
