Summer of Wild Thorns

Yu Ting's parents were doing a good deed when they invited an orphan girl from a small town to stay with them.

Yu Ting couldn't stand her.

He hated her outdated clothes, the way she sat ramrod straight in class, and how she was always pitifully trying to win him over. He hated the way she called him "Brother Yu Ting" in a soft, tearful voice.

But Xu Lingqing took the art of being at someone else's mercy to the utmost.

No matter how coldly he treated her, she kept coming back as if she had no pride at all.

Yu Ting's friends joked that she was one tough girl.

Yu Ting thought so too.

He wanted to see just how far she could go.

Everything that happened afterward proved that Xu Lingqing really was one tough girl.

Just how tough? Even after Yu Ting had fallen hopelessly in love with her, she could still take a polite step back with a courteous smile and gently say, "Brother Yu Ting, I think you may have misunderstood."
