Breaking the Kagaku World's Rules with Literary Greats' Secret Identities

Check out my friend's story: Bourbon: Double Agent or Double Trouble, a no-romance story centered on the Black Organization's undercover agent, with two versions of the same undercover agent. And my own upcoming work: A Fox-Spirit's Guide to Employment for Furuya, a Rei-centered story with a Rei and Hiromitsu pairing Blurb Yuichi has been a ghost for a very long time. The Book comes from a fragile alternate world that will crumble at a touch. One day, the Book finds Yuichi. The two hit it off right away: Yuichi helps the Book merge worlds, and the Book brings Yuichi back to life. A happy ending for everyone! And so: A mysterious man covered in bandages solves a case in record time, only to end up in a hospital room. A great detective goes out without his wallet and nearly gets stuck working at a shop to pay his bill. A beautiful secretary searching for her missing boss knocks on the door of the Mouri Detective Agency. A short-haired woman claims to be a doctor, but someone discovers tools hidden in her medical kit. A hard-working executive devotes every day to his job, only to be mistaken for a kidnapper. The Book: Could you please do your job properly! Yuichi: But this sushi is really good! Things to know before reading: 1. The protagonist never has his secret identity exposed. 2. The author's intelligence is limited. If you see anyone acting dumb, that's because the author's brains have stopped working. Anyway, all that matters is that it's fun. 3. All the secret identities belong to characters from the alternate Beast universe. The source material doesn't describe them much, so their characterization includes a lot of my personal interpretation. 4. The Book is just a newborn baby, so please don't expect too much from it. 5. No romance. Canon couples stay together. 6. Lots of original settings and out-of-character portrayals. Anything that differs from the source material is an original addition. Upcoming story blurb At 22, Furuya thinks the end goal of life is passing the civil service exam. To keep pace with his childhood friend, Furuya has a very clear plan for his future: four years of university and half a year at the police academy, then becoming a proper public servant alongside his childhood friend. But reality is always crueler than expected. As soon as Furuya steps out of the police academy, a mudslide of troubles sweeps him away and deposits him in the mountains... Furuya stares at the fluffy fur above his head, lost in thought. After living as a human for over a decade, he never expected to suddenly be stripped of his humanity one day. Can a half-demon become a civil servant? Asking online. It's pretty urgent. [Life milestone A loading...] [Accept the "early recruitment into the Public Security Bureau, with a provisional undercover-to-permanent route"?] Furuya: Let me think about it... Hiromitsu: Zero, want to join Public Security together? Furuya: (falls silent for a moment) Furuya: Of course! As long as the people need me, I swear I'll be on the front lines fighting crime! [Accept life milestone B, the "Hiro, I'm done being human" route?] Hiromitsu: I've been exposed. Goodbye, Zero. Furuya: (horrified) Furuya: Don't shoot! Hiromitsu: Wait, explain this fluffy thing you're wearing behind you... Is that a tail? A real tail?! [Accept life milestone C, the "Three years, then another three years, undercover agent rises to the top" route?] Shuichi: I'd like to interview you. How did you go undercover and then just keep getting promoted? I want to kick Rum and tear the Boss apart too! Shuichi: (sighs in amazement) Shuichi: When it comes to workaholics, maybe only Gin can compete with you in the Organization. Furuya: Doesn't that just mean you're not good enough? Theme: The most important thing in life is enjoying the present.
