Only the Strong Deserve Divine Artifacts

Tang Jianyu transmigrated into a discontinued, melodramatic cultivation danmei novel as...

A sword.

Have all the transmigration slots filled up so badly that people can't even transmigrate as people anymore? (Eyes bulging in shock)

And not just any sword, but the protagonist's sword. Naturally, since it belonged to the protagonist, it had all the prestige one could ask for: the relic of an ancient sword immortal, automatically recognizing its master, the whole package.

But it peaked right at the beginning. As a divine weapon in a melodramatic danmei novel, its greatest purpose was to serve as a prop when the protagonist got intimate with all the other men, and then, just as the protagonist was about to die and have his cultivation destroyed, to take a fatal blow for him and shatter into pieces.

And so ended its miserable sword life: praised throughout the novel as the greatest divine weapon, yet never winning a single battle.

The sword spirit was furious. It unleashed a forbidden technique to reverse time and summoned the soul of Tang Jianyu from another world. Then it left behind a battered sword body and a slim hope of recovery before vanishing into the world.

That left Tang Jianyu alone to face the rust-covered, battered blade, its future as a prop for sex, and the cultivation practitioners who would soon come to fight over the treasures when the ruins opened.

His one sliver of hope was the divine weapon's innate talent. Only by letting the world witness its might and brilliance, and stirring up everyone's longing and greed for it, could the sword recover its former strength.

Tang Jianyu understood.

Forget automatically recognizing its master or choosing the one destined by heaven. Get this straight! I, a divine weapon, am meant for the strong!

As a game designer in his previous life, Tang Jianyu knew exactly how to stir up people's greed for a divine weapon. First, invent an impressive origin story, and ideally have an authoritative ranking to back it up.

And so, in the 65th year of the cultivation world, a strange ranking appeared, listing the ten great divine weapons of antiquity: the Pangu Axe, the weapon used by the ancient creator god to split heaven and earth; the Xuanyuan Sword, a weapon that defended the realm...

And the Shennong Cauldron, a sacred tool of medicine; the Fuxi Zither, which ruled all things; the Nuwashi, used to mend the sky...

The ancient divine weapons on the list represented more than strength. They were a glimpse of a once-glorious prehistoric age, and a new path to heaven.

Everyone yearned for them. Everyone dreamed of them. The power of belief awakened the path of incense offerings left unfinished at the dawn of creation, disrupting the fate of a world that had been gradually heading toward the decline of spiritual energy.

And so, the Heavenly Dao awoke.

A few notes:

1. The love interest is the Heavenly Dao, but it's mostly in the background.

2. An extremely overpowered, indulgent power fantasy with a protagonist who's unbelievably chuuni. Don't overthink it.
