How Many Character Cards Do You Have, Anyway?

[Going premium on the 23rd! Ten thousand words dropping that day, so be sure to check it out~] (Pre-release title: Everyone Thinks I'm an Evil God, originally titled Don't Become a Harem Favorite in an Evil God's World. If you're interested, please add it to your favorites qwq.) Tangze Long encountered tabletop role-playing games by chance while receiving treatment at a psychiatric hospital. After a failed game, a system unexpectedly came knocking, assigning him the absurd task of acting out a Lovecraftian world. System: Think of it as a practical exercise before the evil gods invade. You'll become a guide for newbie investigators. Our goal is to train more skilled investigators for that world. In return, whenever you scare someone and drain their sanity, that sanity will be transferred to you. With enough sanity, you'll become a normal person. Tangze Long: Awesome! And so began the joyful tale of a mental patient. In a world without Lovecraftian horrors, he is both an investigator who has saved the world countless times and a mad, fanatical believer with zero sanity. He is a mighty race, a deus ex machina from on high, and an eldritch horror that all living things cannot look upon or describe. [The detective agency takes on a strange case: bizarre rituals, monsters writhing beneath Yokohama, and an indescribable terror. The truth of the world gradually comes into view...] [The head of the Mori family accidentally discovers that one of his subordinates has been replaced by someone else. But when that subordinate displays astonishing technological abilities, he silently dismisses the idea of sending him to the lab for dissection.] [At the launch event for the full-dive game Cocoon, Monokuma's face appears on the screen with an eerie smile. Everyone is pulled into a class trial where their lives are at stake.] [The Heavenly Restriction Tyrant has given up on respecting himself and others, but learns of the existence of God from a monster. "If she can be brought back to life, take my faith and my life, whatever it takes."] System: Wait, wake up! We're not the villains, okay?! Tangze Long: It's fine. I can be one. Reader's Notes: 1. The setting is based on the CoC tabletop role-playing game TRPG. Secret identity wish fulfillment, a mastermind behind the scenes, no identity reveals, and not strictly faithful to Lovecraftian conventions. 2. All secret identities are original except Monokuma. Includes tabletop gaming elements and a dice bot. Not horror. 3. Some canon characters temporarily go insane, and certain parts have been substantially changed. If that's not for you, please click the X and leave. 4. There's a Danganronpa campaign, but you don't need to have read it. Pre-release opens January 26, 2023. Lan En transmigrates into the body of an unlucky man who shares his name and has just escaped a fire, gaining a second life and inhuman beauty. Sounds like an amazing start, just one step away from reaching the peak of life, right? That's what Lan En thinks too, if only this weren't a world where Lovecraftian evil gods exist. #Why do all the monsters seem to like him?# #Question: If I become everyone's favorite in a world like this, can I still be saved?# Lan En has given up and lies waiting for death in a terrifying hospital at night. Who could have guessed someone would stumble into his world, giving up their life just to keep him alive? Lan En is deeply moved, at least until he gets access to a gaming forum. #Just died. Sharing my new wife with everyone. I've already become the white moonlight in her heart!# #...Something's not right. Run! Your wife is obviously an evil god!# Lan En: ? By the 23rd century, full-dive technology has long since matured. Thanks to it, traditional tabletop role-playing games such as CoC and DnD have enjoyed a resurgence, with countless players entering games to experience a second life. With so many platforms on the market, players were more scattered than ever, until a full-dive platform quietly appeared and took the internet by storm on its very first day. No other reason. The poster boy was just too beautiful! "Quick question: Is someone this beautiful even real?" "This has to be an app rating of 99, right? I'm losing my mind! Wife, come here!" "You shameless old fox! You used death to raise your favorability. She's obviously my wife!" "Heh, beauty beyond human imagination can't be drawn, so she's just average. (Pulls up pants.)" While players swoon over the character model, debate rages over whether Lan En is an evil god or a special NPC. "Look, look over there~ Look at that face, with an APP (appearance) rating clearly over 99. Then look at how players lose SAN around him. Oh, come on, it's obvious he's an evil god! (To the tune of a musical.)" Lan En: ? Player B: We should be more careful. Let's check out the NPCs around him before we decide. A painter over six feet tall, a police chief suspected of attending secret meetings, the biggest gang boss in town, a double-personality fanatic, a weirdo florist with unusual tastes... They all gaze at him with fervent eyes: My lord. The players: Evil god, no doubt. He's one hundred percent an evil god! Lan En: ...No, I'm really not! #Please, NPCs, stop betraying me!# #I'm really not an evil god!# Theme: The song of humanity is the song of courage
